Technology should be creating moments for us — not taking them away.

We see an incredible amount of new, useful tech arise in our day-to-day. But too much of a good thing is still too much of a thing. To stand out you need to build for the future. And the future is invisible software products.

Here’s an excellent example of what I am referring to by Dennis R. Mortensen, CEO of x.ai.

I’ve been writing short stories as an intro for each of my Weekly Roundups. I’m going to continue the theme of an introduction, and going forward I’ll do stories, thought-starters, or quotes.

What I Read

This is the best and most simple explanation of AI that I have found. It also doesn’t hurt that the design is beautiful

“You’re at a cocktail party or networking event. A guy you’ve never met comes up to you, politely introduces himself, knows exactly who you are, shares some nice words about how you or your business helped him, and asks for nothing else but to shake your hand. Would you shake his hand? Of course! Think of your LinkedIn connection request as your way to get that virtual handshake.”

Sound advice and actionable intelligence from many successful leaders and entrepreneurs. This article delivers things you can and should be doing to improve as an entrepreneur.

You may have already noticed, but some of my favorite articles are packed with a dense amount of information that can be acted on immediately. This one is no exception. Learn how to improve your online presence with simple-but-overlooked tips.

What I Watched

An interview Peter Thiel did in 2014 while he was launching his book Zero to One. I highly recommend this book. He’ll quickly challenge your paradigms and break down mental barriers. This interview provides a great summary of the book with some useful additions.

What I Used

I love discovering new apps. I use Product Hunt daily, but most of the things coming through there are early-stage and haven’t been fully built or tested yet. Siftery is a cool service that provides app recommendations based on apps that other companies are using successfully.

What I Wrote

It recently dawned on me that my sleep tracker can recognize the difference between deep and light sleep. I’ve been wearing it for roughly the past year, so I have sleep data reaching back from before I started polyphasic sleeping. In this article I show the fascinating results of my new sleep habits and challenge the conventional ways of thinking about sleep.
